Company website · Static generator

stegnor.com

stegnor.com is the website of my company, Stegnor LLC. It is a static site of 804 pages built by a Python and Jinja generator, served by nginx under a strict Content-Security-Policy.

The generator

Content lives in YAML and Markdown, and a Python build turns it into static HTML through Jinja templates. The build refuses to finish on broken links, unbalanced tags, duplicate titles or bad meta lengths, so those mistakes cannot reach production.

Why static

There is no database or app server to patch, pages are fast from anywhere, and a release is a file copy that can be rolled back. New pages go out in phases while I watch Search Console.

A lesson from production

The live Content-Security-Policy blocks inline styles, and a local preview server sends no such header. A tool that passed locally broke on live. Since then, anything I ship is tested on the live site with the live headers.
